We would like to see our service as a meeting place that consists of language lovers all around the world. It isn’t easy, and it can often be time consuming to maintain and improve a new language. Also, before contacting someone, you can get to know a little bit about them by looking at their Profile.

What are the odds of meeting a language friend online?
Sorry, but we don’t have a statistical equation you can use. However, hundreds of people have started to chat online since our launch in August 2007. So our best advice would be to go out there, make yourself seen, and give it some effort. So, why don't you register and let the probability distribution functions work themselves out?

Congratulations! That means we're doing our job. To cancel your membership, just visit the Resignation Button on the Edit my Profile Page. We of course wish you the best, but if things don't work out, you know where to find us.
When can I email other members?
You can email other members, whether you're initiating or replying, as soon as you have registered.
You can call it shy. I call it mysterious. How do I remain anonymous?
What happens at Lingofriends stays at Lingofriends. It’s up to the user to decide whether the member wants to be anonymous or not. So either you pick an alias for your username or you use your own name. Either way, your personal information such as your email address and your complete name won’t be seen by any members.
Where do I receive emails from other members?
All emails from other members are sent to your Lingofriends inbox, we will send you an notificaion to the email address you registered with.

What is the process for creating a Profile?
To create your Profile, just log in and click on My Profile at the top of any page. It's fun, quick, and easy. And remember, no one likes a boring Profile. Have some fun with it. Be creative. You're here to meet people, so make them want to meet you. This is also where you can add a photo to your Profile, which gets members up to 15 times more attention. Finally, whenever you're finished hyping yourself up, just hit the "Save changes" button. So post a pic. Be creative. But keep it clean. Our Customer Care team reviews our members.
How do I update or edit my Profile after it's been posted?
Edit your Profile whenever you want by logging in and clicking on My Profile at the top of any page. After you've finished properly reflecting your life changes, just hit "Save changes".

Say what you will, but guys are 14 times more likely to look at a Profile with a photo. Women are 8.5 times more likely to look at your Profile if you have a pic. How do I add a photo to my Profile?
You need to go to “My Profile”, then hit Edit Profle and choose Upload your photo. After you've posted your Profile, you can upload a photo directly from your computer. Your photo will be uploaded instantly. Be sure to crop and edit them before uploading.
What does Online Now mean?
Lingofriends.com has developed a feature to allow you to see which of your fellow Lingofriends.com members have been on the site recently. Generally speaking, if Online Now is indicated, it means that that member has been active on the site within the last hour. However, from time-to-time, system delays may postpone the regular refreshing of the Online Now indicator, and it may have been more than one hour since that member has been active on the site.
How do I search for a Lingo friend?
The short answer is this: Searching is done by you. You can search for members certain characteristics such as, language, age, gender, location etc. When you perform a search, you are specifying what types of members you want to see.
How do I change my password?
It's easy to change your password at any time. Just visit the "My Profile" edit section in the Navigation tool bar at the top of every page.
How much does it cost to become a member?
Nothing, Lingofriends is free of charge for all members.
